Common questions
What footage does Curbwatch support?
Drives written by Tesla vehicles — Sentry Mode events, Dashcam saves, and recent clips — across hardware generations and camera sets. Curbwatch reads what's actually on the drive rather than assuming a fixed layout, so unusual or partial recordings still show up.
Where do deleted clips go?
Rejected clips are moved into a .CurbwatchTrash staging folder on the drive itself. Nothing is permanently deleted until you empty the trash in Curbwatch — until then, everything is recoverable.
Why do some clips show as encrypted?
Vehicle software 2026.20 and later can encrypt dashcam files. Curbwatch detects these and labels them honestly instead of treating them as corrupt. Decryption isn't possible outside the vehicle's own viewer.
Does my footage get uploaded anywhere?
